Geolocation Strategy

In this lesson, we will discuss the strategy of buying tiles in Earth2.

All Lessons
1

Real-World Locations

Research real-world locations with high economic or strategic value, such as major cities, tourist destinations, or areas with potential for development.

Even with the platform being live for 3 years now - Earth2 still has some great location or scenic areas can be grabbed. Use your knowledge to find those areas. It can be a place people visit or monuments with high traffic. You can even build near those locations.

Consider areas with high demand or popularity within the Earth2 community, as this can drive up the value of tiles in those locations.

Do you think the seven wonders of the world are taken? The Great Wall of China; Taj Mahal, India; Petra, Jordan; The Colosseum, Italy; Christ the Redeemer, Brazil; Chichén Itzá, Mexico; Machu Picchu, Peru; The Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt. At least you can build a smaller property to take advantage of the traffic there. Please do make a note that Earth2 is pristine 1:1 Earth; all artificial structures will be removed. Players will be re-building the world without any resemblance of today's Earth—even countries do not really have any significance beside price and rarity which is driven by the players.

2

Economic Factors

Look for regions with strong economic activity, as this can attract more users and increase the value of tiles over time. When we say strong economic regions in a real world, it might not be the same in Earth2. I am think of the top 10 biggest mall for example: New South China Mall; Golden Resources Mall; CentralWorld; SM Mall of Asia; Dubai Mall; West Edmonton Mall; SM Megamall; Istanbul Cevahir; Berjaya Times Square; Siam Paragon.

Consider areas with high potential for future development or growth, as this can lead to increased demand for virtual land. For this idea it will be projects being constructed or planned to be in the future—thinking that visitors would want to experience your property in the future. Visitors entering Earth2 will be familiar with their local first before exploring the world. Your property might be the first they see when entering Earth2. Look for those - NEOM City, Saudi Arabia; The Gulf Railway, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE); Dholera Solar Power Plant, India; King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia; Madison Square Garden Sphere, Las Vegas; Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai; South-North Water Transfer Project, China; London Crossrail Project, London; Grand Paris Express, France; Great Man-Made River Project, Libya. Happy hunting!

3

Connectivity and Accessibility

Choose locations with good connectivity and accessibility in the real world, as these factors can influence the desirability of virtual land. This is important to consider who will be your audience and where they live. Their connection might not be the same as yours.

Proximity to major transportation hubs, highways, or landmarks may increase the attractiveness of the virtual land. This might not be so true since all roads will be removed. But it is important to remember how and where the players will be experiencing Earth2. Will they log in while waiting for a train or a plane or even riding in the car checking their phone with a window into Earth2 from Earth1. We do know Shane said that he would like to have such a feature in the future.

4

Community and Social Aspects

Consider the social aspect of Earth2, such as events, meetups, or collaborations within the virtual world. In Earth2 current players have started to make their own megacities outside the regular boundaries of Earth1 cities. Hence, you can join their megacities and work with a group of dedicated players to create something great. Here are a few megacities:

Being part of an active and engaged community can enhance the overall experience and value of your virtual land.

5

Diversification

Diversify your portfolio by acquiring tiles in different regions or types of locations to spread risk and capture a broader range of opportunities. This is a great idea for capturing resources spread across the world. Think the logistics of moving resources around your properties for building and creating hubs for new markets you have to create.

6

Long-Term Vision

Consider your long-term goals and vision for your virtual land portfolio. Are you looking for short-term gains or long-term appreciation?

Remember that Earth2 is a dynamic platform, and strategies may need adjustments based on ongoing developments. It's crucial to stay informed, engage with the community, and be strategic in your decision-making to make the most of your virtual land investments. And overall, have fun!
